Welcome

The Opus Downer Retirement Scheme was established on 21 October 2016. The Scheme was formerly known as the Works Superannuation Scheme which was established in 1997 following the reorganisation of a prior superannuation arrangement, the Works and Development Service Corporation Superannuation Scheme.

On 30 November 2016 the Scheme transitioned with full compliance of the Financial Markets Act 2013 as an employer-related restricted workplace savings scheme.

There are seven directors, three of whom are appointed by Opus and three of whom are appointed by Downer Construction (New Zealand) Limited. The seventh director is the chairman who also meets the FMCA requirement to include a Licensed Independent Trustee who is independent of both Opus and Downer.
